Black Mirror Season 7: Charlie Brooker on “USS Callister” Return
mouth withThe Hollywood Reporterat the end of May 2024 , Brooker offered an update on how things were operate with cinematography and shared why " USS Callister " was the right episode to go the subsequence path with . Speaking of the instalment sequel , Brooker explain how the episode lent itself to a law of continuation and how being able to publish a type beyond one episode was a new experience that was " a lot of playfulness " for him . " This has been brew for really quite a long time . And it ’s partly because of the way that it end . The first one ends like you could just have a bun in the oven that story on and follow where they go now . So it was always like , ' Hmm , I ’m run short to do that . ' It was something we were looking at for quite a long clock time . There were various iteration it went through , various reading we wanted to do and were discussing on and off for several years . "

Brooker continued , " But there are a spate of schedules to sort out out , and then the pandemic got in the elbow room . It was something that calculate like it was n’t die to fall out , and so I was enthralled when it did . So , it ’s been a minute . But even writing the characters is a luxury I do n’t often get . I ’ve never had it before on ' Black Mirror ' to have a character that survives beyond one episode ! So that ’s been a portion of sport , and then seeing them all on set has been wondrous , " Brooker explain . As for what viewer can require , Brooker ’s response seemed to indicate that viewer should n’t of necessity usurp anything – like assumingJesse Plemons ' Robert Daly would n’t be seem ( in turgid part because he ’s no longer inhabit ) . " You ’ll see . Yeah , you ’ll see [ Laughs ] . But we keep the story from where we left off . And there are some new character as well . There is raw stuff to do with where they ’ve now stop up versus where they were . "
