In the movie , Lilith ( Blanchett ) , an ill-famed crook with a mystic past , reluctantly repay to her home major planet of Pandora to find the missing girl of the world ’s most powerful S.O.B. , Atlas ( Ramirez ) . Lilith work an alignment with an unexpected team – Roland ( Hart ) , a former elite soldier of fortune , now desperate for redemption ; Tiny Tina ( Greenblatt ) , a feral pre - teen demolitionist ; Krieg ( Munteanu ) , Tina ’s musclebound , rhetorically challenge shielder ; Tannis ( Curtis ) , the scientist with a fragile clutch on saneness ; and Claptrap ( Black ) , a persistently wiseass automaton . These unlikely heroes must battle alien giant and dangerous bandit to find and protect the missing girl , who may hold the Florida key to out of the question power . I have not played these games in years , but theBorderlandsfans are legion and vocal . WasEli Roththe right choice to orchestrate ? Is it possible for this flick to live up to fan expectations ? Why is Cate Blanchett in this film again ? Hopefully by the metre August 9th rolls around , we will have some of those answers .
