Universal and Focus Features had their massive CinemaCon panel and showed off novel footage from Jurassic World Dominion , Violent Night , and more .
And we ’re back for part two of this Universal and Focus Features massive recap . Unlike last year when Focus really made a splash , this class it feel a little more muted . They harbinger some projects without any footage and show off some not - trailers that wo n’t be released in these exact forms . We got a looking atMrs Harris exit to Pariswhich looks like it is channeling that sort of twee cuteness that we get from a pile of Wes Anderson movies . The costume , since it this about couture fashion , are going to be the real lead of this one .
Focus’sArmageddon Timewill make its launching at Cannes next calendar month and is an geographic expedition of life-time in Queens in the eighties through the eyes of a black family and a Judaic family . The footage looks like something that would make its debut at Cannes andAnthony Hopkinslooks like he is gunning for another Oscar if this one stop up hitting hard . This is exactly the type of thing that awards season eats up . We also got a abbreviated expression at theCate BlanchettstarringTÁRbut the footage really did n’t give us much of anything to go off of . Finally , we got another look atDownton Abbey : A New Erabut as someone who has never seen a single physical body of that show or the last movie , I could not severalize you what was new . It looks like Downtown Abbey and fans of that will probably get exactly what they want which is hunky-dory .
In a move that felt awkward as hell , we flip back to Universal movies andDavid Harbourcame out to show off one of the most buckwild go movie that we have listen in a while . It ’s Santa Clause by way ofNobodyorJohn Wickas Harbour literally plays Santa Clause inViolent Night . He picks up a giant fucking hammering and ruin bad guy wire who take a kinsfolk surety on Christmas , it was perfectly mad looking . A dandy baffle a genius from the top of a Sir Herbert Beerbohm Tree shoved through his face and then he was fry with it . We have no words , look for that one in December .
We catch a expression at some incompletePuss in boot : The Last Wish . Much like the Spider - Verse footage we got to see andThe Bat Guysfootage we saw last August during another Universal panel , it was incomplete , but it looked cunning and masses who want more of that franchise will like it . Finally , Universal resolve to finish the presentation withJurassic World Dominionbut much like other presentations , it feel there was n’t that much fresh footage . We watch that Owen makes a premise to Blue to save her sister raptor after it is capture by hunters . The dinosaur really have taken over the world and we see Owen move throughout a metropolis absolutely overhaul by dinosaur . When Owen explicate that he made a promise to save the sister dinosaur , both Alan and Ian are not impressed .
At the beginning of the demonstration , Universal went out of their way to say how much of all of this was new , but the way they had every circle up made it feel extra and it was hard to distinguish between what was new or old without digging through previous footage and trying to remember what was already released . That makes it harder for us to recapitulate for all of you , but we hope that this and the liveblog helped get as much of the information across as potential .
