Bleeding Cool : Was it hard not to get starstruck by some of your more seasoned costars ? Was there anyone you hung around on stage set when it was n’t like your filming daytime ?
They were all over the stead a lot of times in Long Beach ( CA ) on the day I was there ; I got to hang around a few nightlong shoot we did . I had a few hours in between , so I would be just like hanging at the monitor . I ’m a director as well , and conductor Michael Lehmann and I became supporter . I catch to take in everything he did . I was n’t " starstruck , " but I will say when I walked on set and came across Patrick Dempsey for the first time , I was like … uh … I did n’t have words , which is not normal for me . I was like , " Wow ! That ’s weird ! " I ’ve work on so many lot at this point with so many different the great unwashed that it was funny to me even , I was like , " Whoa ! " Everybody was so kind . It was comfortable to go around that , be there to do the work , serve the story , and have fun .
What was the most difficult face of product for you ?
Let ’s see . The stamina of the overnight shoots , when you ’re popping in for a few solar day at a time and not a series regular . I had n’t been sort of in the musical rhythm of the entire show . I pop in for episodes here and there , and I had two all-night shoots in a dustup . That would be jarring for anyone . It ’s like you ’ve got to detain up , and not only do you have to rest up , but you also must be on television camera , and you must be focused and unfaltering . Luckily , I was playing a character that was drunk or insane half the clock time , so being shopworn or zoning out did serve the character . Those hours are grueling , and people do n’t always translate that any time there is darkness or Nox on a set , which was shot at 3 ante meridiem
What was the biggest takeaway from your experience on lot , and is there something within your pilothouse you could help to do in your future , like musical style work or something else within your sights ?
One of my biggest takeaways was even though the employment was hard , everybody there love what they were doing . Michael Lehman , who ’s a producing director , is such a veteran . There are so many veterans in this cast but ascertain them not stress about anything and be like , " We are so prosperous to be here . This is so fun ! How fun is this ? ! " That sets it up such a yummy experience , and as both an actor and managing director , that is something I want to check that I contain on to because it is hard . It ’s hard body of work to put any show together , any production as an actor or on the other side . I never want to bury their love and dally in it .
Genre - wise , I ’m a horror buff and a genre girl . I have it off TV game and activeness , and I ’m a martial creative person , too . I like to channelise warriorlike humanistic discipline and action movies . There ’s something about this dingy , almost drollery , dramatic event , bloody tone I bed and keep finding myself in , and I hope to keep finding myself in more . Staying right where I am also sound so good to me .
Did you have a prospect to talk toSarah Michelle Gellarabout ' Buffy : The Vampire Slayer ? '
I did . I met her on my first day , and that was the most exciting for me . We were n’t in any scenes together at the time . My first vista was with all the men in the show . Once I got to meet her , I was just … and Christina Milian , too . I met her at the premiere . ' Buffy ' exchange my life as it did so many other [ women like myself ] . Her strength , comedic chop , and activeness … watch that produce up made me find like there is a place for women in this genre . That also made me want to be the creator and film director and make stuff like that as well . I made a few curt films in that [ supernatural action ] genre and hope to make bigger things . meet her … that was a misstep ! I could n’t even say everything I want to say to her . I wanted to be like , " Woah ! " which I ’m sure a lot of multitude do to her , but she could n’t be kinder . Getting to work with all these stager in this show has been center - possibility and extra .
