Doctor Whovs . Star Trekhas long been a bit of a contention between their several fanbases . Because fandom , like any other kin , needs an antagonist . fan often consider which is better , the Doctor or Captain Kirk . Now , " Captain Kirk " himself has weighed in . William Shatner , in a natural language - in - cheek trolly mood , tweeted , hilariously , " Dr. Who is an intergalactic troublemaker . " You have intercourse what ? He ’s correct !
Think about it . The Doctor is an anarchist , an agent of Chaos ! The Doctor is utterly an intergalactic troublemaker . Starfleet is all about order . Granted , it ’s progressive and benign , and The Doctor would believably approve of their principle but probably disapprove of their rigidness and covert tactic . The Federation is all about orderly government and cooperation . The Doctor is all for cooperation , and if a government is n’t a dictatorship , they ’ll more often than not leave it alone . But if they dictate anything sour and awful in its underbody , the Doctor will mess that tell on up and some . And then desire in the TARDIS and cover their merry fashion , go away everyone behind to clean up the mess . As far as Kirk or any Starfleet headwaiter is concerned , they might as well be a Q. The Doctor is capable of destroy Starfleet , the Klingon Empire , and the Borg , probably each in one afternoon , without firing a gunslinger at anyone . Hell , they ’d believably use the transonic screwdriver to completely cut and scramble the Borg ’s OS and set them all free .

When you recollect about it , Doctor WhoandStar Trekare Science Fiction series with diametrically opposite viewpoints . grant , they divvy up a progressive , inclusive viewpoint , but after that , they differ wildly . Star Trekmight be consider the more " mature " franchise since it was a product of the 1960s Kennedy era optimism and can be said to be an offshoot of American soft power propaganda . Doctor Whois mainly a kid ’s show that set out to instruct children about history and Science through amusement , even when the Daleks come up along , because Daleks make everything good . The most interesting part of the series is its festivity of British eccentricity , anarchy , and rebelliousness . Just think about how many governments and empires the Doctor has brought down in the last sixty year . And the show is as beloved worldwide asStar Trek .

They ’d be this gaga changeling who would be favorable to be the janitor on a USS Starship before getting kvetch out .
