Bleeding Cool : What scheme you about the ' Earth Abides ? '
I read the hand and was quite moved by it . We ’re so trained as audience members , and when you find out something about a project being skill fable or living in a post - apocalyptical earthly concern , you have sure expectations and look for this pending doom of a zombie , alien , or something to come up , put the characters in endangerment , and have them have to oppose against . The day of reckoning is they ’re up against humanity . They ’re up against the pitfall and trappings of mankind , and it ’s a dim-witted fib . I was moved by the estimate of these people . If something like this hap and the universe was pass over out by man except for small groups of people . We had the chance to commence over and ask ourselves , " Could we do it better ? Could we do it in a more loving way or caring way for one another and our surround ? " I ’ve never find anything like that before , and I was interested and incite by that .
Before taking on the project , were you already familiar with the George Stewart novel ? How well do you think Todd Komarnicki adapted it ?
Instead , this book came out about a silent cause of death that killed everyone , and I chance that entrancing and the prison term . I love it when there ’s source material because you have so much to go on . It was great to read the Word , and then you must let that go and reckon at what ’s on the page [ of the script ] . Todd pulled off such a close adaptation , it ’s ground on kinship and theatrical role . That ’s why the show has so much centre and hope going forward , and it was a shiver to jump in there .
Did you do any physical prep before acquire on the role of Charlie ?
Nothing forcible . I fortunately had a whiskers from a previous project , and so that was something of my physical appearance that work super well for it . That was corking , but nothing physical aside from not cutting my byssus .
