Over the summer , an issue ofSilver Surferfeatured a cameo coming into court by the cast of Hamilton , include Miranda himself . However , despite Miranda ’s lately expressed fandom for Marvel , at the meter , the mold was " whitewash " for the issue , with Miranda , who is of Puerto Rican descent , replaced with a snowy guy for the cameo .

Slott stands by his averment that , in rescript to forfend liability for Marvel , it was necessary to supplant the cast of Hamilton with bloodless Guy . The logical system is n’t great . It ’s totally credible that Marvel ’s lawyers would object to a Hamilton cameo . What does n’t make sentience is that whitewashing the characters was the best potential result to that . The gimcrack , easiest solution ? That seems more probable . But sure as shooting not the only one . Bleeding Cool ’s commenters , bless their person , were ready to battle Slott on this matter for commentary section mastery :

It does n’t really suffice the interrogative sentence at all , but it did at least gain Slott admiration for one thing :
All of this , of form , leaves out one important question … If Marvel ’s effectual department is so concerned about a half - page cameo by the hurl of Hamilton infringing on rightfield , how are they not implicated that Slott ripped off the entire concept and execution of the book fromDoctor Who ? Lawyers work in cryptic ways , we guess .
