Jimmy PalmiottiandAmanda Conner , with everything fromMarvel KnightstoThe Pro to Harley QuinntoPaperFilms on their corporate CV , presently work on aHarley Quinn / Elviracrossover , were guests on the maiden voyage of theComic - flimflam : The Cruise . And Jimmy Palmiotti is here to tell us everything that go down . He writes ;
" Sold as the ultimate Comic - Con ® fan experience , it really know up to that title and more . We were among the client bid onboard from February 5th to 9th , with a stopover for the sidereal day in Cozumel , Mexico . The Talent leaning was made up of Movie and television set sensation and license partners and sport an actual Artists ' Alley with us andAdam Hughes , Alison Shon , Afua Richardson , Kip Rasmussen , Sarah Myer , Joe WosandMarcus Williams .
" Also on the ship were celebrity disc jockey , Dueling Piano player , a party band that kicked major ass call Funky Bonez , and so much more . The people behind the sail made it their business to check that each and every person descend on board had stuff to do if they like and a relaxing playfulness time in the process .
" Even before the sail took off , we knew there were decease to be some major event parties each night because they had asked Amanda to illustrate some visuals for them . There were four different political party with cosplay themes if anyone want to dress up , and they did . The first nighttime saw a tropic vacation subject , the second night a celebration of all thing Sci - fi , the third night a colossal cosplay jubilation and the last dark a pajama party . Our favorites were the cosplay nighttime and Pajama one , for certain . give thanks God the pajama theme was the last night , because we were washed-out and it just saved us some time .
" Our schedule started right aside as we took off from the port wine of Tampa , Florida . All of the invited Talent , artists and partners got together for an preference meeting to get to know the hosts and other info that would aid us along for the following 24-hour interval . After a dejeuner break all the funny crew start together at the mainstage for an unveiling and interview where we talk about who we are , what we have done and then take questions . We noticed a few familiar aspect in the crowd as well and talk to some after . We were done for the night as we enter in some of the other things happening around the ship . Our favorite was aHollywood Squaresgame show withMary McDonald , Ernie Hudson , Felicia Day , Jonah Rey , Melody Andersonand our favoriteTed Lange . It was so well done , and was a blast . The consultation was howling at some of the wrong response to movie and television trifle . All this pass away on while they had Karaoke , a talent display case and springy music from 9 - midnight . There was also a DJ company going on till 2:30 am , but we had a bounteous Clarence Day ahead , so we crashed after a late - Nox beverage at the casino legal community .
" Day two was our first full day in Artists ' Alley , which also divvy up outer space with the store betray t - shirts and other thing convention- . related , and we got in after breakfast and worked the full day minus a dejeuner break and at 1:30 , an hr - longsighted panel with Amanda and I utter and aim questions . The Artists ' Alley was busy with sports fan bring their own Good Book and some looking at what we did for the first time . A lot of newfangled the great unwashed come by and we instantly sold out of the pile of Deadly takes of theGunslingercopies I brought . For me , the extra thrill was sitting next to Adam Hughes and learn him draw study after sketch for people . I was green-eyed of every single someone that catch one . We finish for the daytime , grabbed dinner in the beautiful dining elbow room and then Amanda go and modify into her Leela suit for science fiction nighttime , and we were out for God knows how late , having a gust and mixing it up with everyone on plug-in . At one point of the eve , we all wound up on the main deck of cards under the stars and listened to Melody Anderson stick in the movieFlash Gordonon the big screen , and since Amanda had not seen it yet , we grabbed a few drink and decide in for the night watchingSam Joneschew up the scenery . It was a blast , and yes , we were exhausted once again .
" The next mean solar day , we had off as we pulled into Cozumel , Mexico and went to a resort where you pay off one price for all the nutrient and drinks you may use up and drink , and it was a bargain by the ocean . The water and temperature of 81 degree was just perfect . We get back before 5 , worked in Artists Alley for a few hours , and then had dinner and partied . That night was the big cosplay costume solemnisation , and Amanda crop up as usual , and we drop a bunch of prison term on the dancing floor , having a great clock time listen to the crew from Funky Bonez .
" We had a full day in Artists ' Alley , trade prints , and Amanda consume on some more commissions . It was our last 24-hour interval work as people fall in and were in a purchasing mood . It was fun meeting so many people from all over the place all with handsome smiles on their boldness . Sam Jones came by asking all of us to sign a movie card he had and it continued like that , a lot of the thespian stopping by to say hi and nibble up a few things . It was a relaxing Clarence Day foreground by its motif of dressing in Pajamas which a ton of people did . That Nox we spent time in the casino watching Adam Hughes rob the place with his winnings and we also spend time on the deck love the Nox air and the star above .
" I will say , without the stress of hotels , transportation and crew , this was one hell of a way to feel a comic convention . What they did powerful in every way was to give the comic leger convention experience to everyone onboard and stuff so many events go on all over the ship that you never felt like you were drill for a second or interacting with the Guest , something most people do not get from a convention very often . For such a big ship , it also had a certain affaire about it .
" Would I recommend this to people in the future tense ? Hell yeah … in the main because even on our goal , this was a ton of fun that normally feels like a great deal of piece of work mixed with debilitation . They understood our timing and our need to eat up and perch when needed and were respectful of our time . It turned out to be a fantastic metre for us , and from what we saw , everyone came along for the voyage . I would extremely recommend this effect , and if you desire to attend to in 2026 ?
