" When my agents first brought meLong Bright River , I read the novel in one seance . Liz Moore ’s breathtakingly beautiful history about a patrol cop on the hunt for her miss younger babe in the midst of a series of murders in Kensington , Philadelphia , was as compelling in its syndicate dramatic event as it was in its murder mystery story . I directly knew it was something I wanted to take a crack at translate to block out with Liz . The challenge of adapting this impress love story between two sisters as it elegantly weaves between the past and the present was inebriate , specially as the account of this kinfolk ’s past holds a critical paint in solving the murder / mystery that unfolds in the present . as compelling was the sense of place Liz brought to her novel , l which I was excited about understand to screen , both as a writer and as a director .
