Bleeding Cool : Were you disappointed by ' Mythic Quest ’s ' cancellation ?
I ’m a lilliputian disappointed , because we felt up we had more story we could tell . At the same sentence , we made four great seasons and a spinoff . We ’re majestic of what we ’ve made , and I have bewilder to make friendships and create relationships that I ’m gon na take with me the rest of my life . We are all gallant of the show we made , so it ’s disappointing , but we still got to do something really awing .
Have you gotten around to wrapping the new ending ?
Yeah , we shoot two dissimilar ending for the last episode , in casing this happened . It sound like they ’re retrovert to the other instalment ending that we shoot when we originally shoot .
What ’s it like having to take that ? Was it something you dreaded that had to come ?
You never bang with any show , really , if it ’s come back . For the entire run of Mythic Quest , every time of year , I ’m like , " I hope we get to make more . " It was n’t honestly substantially different than how we filmed the rest of the show . There was always a chance that the time of year we were on could be our last season . I was candidly just glad that choice was there so we could terminate it on our own terms if that ’s what happens .
How do you feel you ’ve grown as an actor and originative on the show , and how have Charlie , Rob , and Megan helped nourish that ?
I ’ve originate so much . I feel like I was just a baby when we started ' Mythic Quest ' in a way . I had n’t done much on - camera acting when I bug out the show , and so I learned so much about what it is to be an role player on a TV show . I experience I learned how to fetch myself more to that character , and over time , [ my character ] Rachel became more and more body forth , because of what we were doing in the writer ' elbow room , and what you screw I was able to do on set . I ’m really grateful for that and also like the bit of opportunities that I get through ' Mythic Quest ' were unbelievable , like I directed several episodes of video now . I became a cobalt - showrunner , and that was because Rob , Megan , and David [ Hornsby ] put their religious belief in me and set me up to come through . It ’s hard to quantify how much they facilitate me grow , because I grew in so many ways throughout the show .
What ’s your favorite Rachel second , and how much are you like her in real lifespan ?
My favorite Rachel bit is belike in the most recent season when I am defending tiddler labor in front of Congress . It ’s the most flailing I ’ve done as that fiber , which is very fun . We are not fantastically similar [ laughs ] , and I would hope I have a lot more self - awareness than Rachel . I think Rachel like to see herself as a moral person , and then started behaving more amorally as the show went on , which I retrieve was part of the humor of her lineament . It is those things that are in battle between her ethics and actions . I definitely hope I never find myself defending child labor in front of Congress . I think we ’re a slight different in that respect .
I love the dynamic you had with Imani [ Hakim ] as your eccentric Rachel and Dana have grown . How do you experience your characters have evolved throughout the series , and what ’s been the fan response to that maturation ?
We see out throughout the serial how to find the humor in those character . When we started , we were still discovering what ' Mythic Quest ' was locomote to be . I know that Rob , in particular , wanted it to experience dissimilar from ' [ It ’s Always ] Sunny [ in Philadelphia ' ] in how we were gestate those character initially feel more like ' Sunny ' part . Rachel was a flake … creepier [ awkward jest ] , perhaps more stalkery , and Dana was a slew more forgetful .
