RuPaul ’s Drag Race Season 17 returned last hebdomad with the iconic " Snatch Game " Challenge and there was more than enough ghost to go around .

It was no season 14 debacle , but there were a bunch of queens that got drop off in the admixture , and I ’m not sure if that ’s because they edit that way to focus on the best and worst of the hebdomad or if half the queens genuinely got glossed over . Either case , miss Forgot is blending into the background once again , though she was comic enough this week .
Arrietty – Baby Cupid . Literally , her only response was , " I do n’t eff , I ’m just a infant , " and that immediately gets former in an improv challenge , where the directive is " yes , and . " Just keep it perish , say yes , and be weird and wacky , do n’t perpetrate to weird child interpreter and characters who know nothing and then double down on it and speak about how you pooped your diaper . That ’s not fishy , it ’s offputting . What could have made this curious is doing a " grown Isle of Man dress as a baby " take – while it ’s not original , it ’s at least funny .
Though on the matter of fictional characters , we only see our first pure fancied characters ( as fight back to a character portrayed by an doer ) on regular season Snatch Game last season , withXunami Muse’sTooth Fairy ( which get down her eliminated , rightly so ) and to a less extent , the naturalistic fictional character archetypeMhi’ya Iman Le’Paigeplayed , which worked in her favor . Now , some of the funniest Snatch Game character reference have been fabricated ( likeTrinity the Tuck’sSatan ) , but it does finger like a chip of a pig - out , especially when you do it this is follow , and the spirit of the challenge is a Hollywood Squares type of panel show with current and persistent pop refinement references . Nonetheless , it was a funny character that realize her a top locating this workweek .

It ’s literally the same designViolet Chachkiwore ( and put on better ) to the Life Ball in 2018 , based on an older design by art deco designerErté . To be honest , of the two , Lana ’s lookdoesn’t quite read as well . This is n’t because of the timber ; it ’s something else – perhaps it ’s in the confidence affair with modeling the evaluator cite last week , or it could be the baseball glove ’s colour choice or the addition of nails to the design to match the runway composition . I ’m not taste to throw anyone under the bus ( that is still run ) ; both designers who made the looks are AMAZING , but Lana looks like she receive the Temu variant ( Temu couture ? ) of this baseball mitt scrubs , and spoiler : it ’s not a good look .
Lexi Love – Gilbert Gottfried . It ’s a good affair a circumstances of queens chose celebs who are no longer with us because they would have been offended at how truly dreadful these portrayals were . The floor of sheer psychotic belief to think she could get out with not having anything prepared , especially not the vocalisation , whichGilbert Gottfriedis experience for and make a career on – what on Earth was Lexi think ? And worse yet , the judges PRAISED her for it . Onya Nurve – Eddie Murphy . This felt correct , like a classic Snatch Game character , though it felt like a chip of a cop - out . Onya played into this and made bright choice – it ’s not her defect she ’s a product dearie , though it did experience like it was somehow a bit too easy , both comedy and character wise . Sam Star – Kim Gravel , aka Kim of Queens ( and QVC ) . This felt like Sam playing herself in 30 years , but it was good and laughable , and aboveboard , in this competition , the name of the game ( specially Snatch Game ) is to make RuPaul jest , and she sure did here . Her rail was a commonly done theme ( moldable surgery ) but her nail were literal syringes , and it felt unparalleled to her . Suzie Toot – Ellen Greene , aka the original " Aubrey " in the Little Shop of Horrors movie . Miss Suzie made the Hellenic Snatch Game mistake of doing an effect and forgetting to make it funny , yet somehow still not even nailing the mental picture . It was a confusing choice that , done successfully , could have been likeJinkx’sLittle Edie , but or else , it was just a confusing bit about not being able to pronounce the Book " scissors . " Her runway was to snuff it for , though ; I mean , who else comes out dressed like an iron maid for a " nailed it " runway ? Strongly secure this hebdomad , and boy , was she spend a penny about it .
With Lana in the bottom yet again , one can reckon after that mouth sync performance that she ’d be going home , particularly against Crystal – but no . Yet again , production is smoke offer and rigging it for fury bait , which is getting really freaking old , old than RuPaul herself . In one of the bad surprises of the season , Lana is save , and Crystal is sent packing , despite Lana literally losing her wigging , nips out , and just mistily loitering on phase , giving a tenth of what Crystal brought to that brim sync .
I imagine it goes to try out that if you quell one of RuPaul ’s favorites , you do n’t have to become one of her pet ? I ’m not certain , but this feels bad . And even her expression feel like something we ’ve seen on that runway before , a great deal , from king with a lot more personality than Lana , who register the personality of a bambino constantly having a meltdown when things do n’t go their manner . lease ’s at least stop profess this is a fair fight and just be for tangible – RuPaul ’s Drag Raceisn’t looking for America ’s Next Drag Superstar , and they have n’t in a retentive time , arguably ever .
