It ’s time for " The Grand Finale " ! Here ’s a summing up of what move down during the season finis of MTV ’s RuPaul ’s Drag Race Season 17 .
During MTV’sRuPaul ’s Drag Raceseason 17 finale , for the first clip , the performances are not a mouth sync struggle , but each of the four finalist had to record and mouth sync to an original song . Jewels Sparkleshas more and more irritate me more and more throughout the season , and I could hardly watch her finale performance . Her looking all feel generic , and it ’s just give me steal binJanwith all this wannabe Ariana Grande fuzz , and I just can not . The other matter that consistently nark me is her leotards when she wears these footling lingerie dance issue – her waistline down is three shades darker than the quietus of her dead body , and it is so distracting . missy , I know they make dance tights in your shade , WEAR THEM . Did she deserve to be an former out ? No , but a hearty mid - out should have been her great deal this time of year and the fact she made it to top two proves the producers do n’t care about the actual artistry of drag and are just regurgitating the same busted storylines and had to put Jewels in some form of a box because she is merchantable and likely the next cash cow WOW is going to push on the masses along with the Vegas show .
Lexi Love ’s drag feel over - orchestrate specifically to win the drag race by pimp to RuPaul , and it ’s as faux as her jumbo talon pincer nails . I ’ve said it before , I like some of the things she ’s doing , but her operation tonight just feels so impel and the very opposite of genuine . Of course , I feel that way about her on - cover theatrical role this season as well .
Onya Nurve ’s number was the first one I did n’t find myself improbably tire with , and that ’s because her stage comportment and vocalism are absolutely fantastic . It ’s like a smooth , creamy cup of spicy chocolate that ’s just the right temperature to sip and savor . Now , do n’t get it twisted . She ’s not by any means a terpsichorean , and that stage dancing was a piffling harsh , but she more than have up for it in stage front and aura .
I will always gag overSam Star ’s carrying into action , but I do see how she ’s just scarce outshone by Onya in this performance in particular . The comedy element and personality were n’t quite as there as Onya , but she just does a very different , tiptop dressed style of pull , so it makes sense for her . She did the house of Trinity ( House of the Tuck ? ) very lofty not only on the principal stage tonight , but throughout the whole competition . The apple distinctly does not fall far from the tree , but I really do n’t listen when the tree diagram is as sickening and fabulous as Trinity .
My personal ranking would be Onya , Sam , Lexi , Jewels , with Onya and Sam being the clean front runner and top two , because let ’s be real , as much as I make love Sam , from early on it was open there was absolutely no way that anyone but Onya was acquire this time of year .
Liza Minnelliwas demonstrate with the " fall in Us Lifetime Achievement Award , " and she is as delightful and saucy as ever .
But , fancy aside , the actual top two , Onya and Jewels , lip - synced toAbracadabra , and Onya fetch the energy and level bearing she always does , while it mat up like Jewels was just reveal and john and gimmick after gimmick . Was it entertaining ? Yes , but did the correct queen win ? Also yes .
And with that , RuPaul ’s Drag Raceseason 17 is over , and honestly , the best part of the season waslast week ’s mouth sync , where we got the most sensational performance from spiritual winnerSuzie Toot . Congrats to Onya and all the queens , and none for the producers , who suck .
