Bleeding Cool : Was there any required viewing or register that Olatunde had you guys do before skip into filming ?

Hardwick : you could take that one , Kacey .

Rohl : Yeah , there was a little snatch of homework . severally , not asked by Olatunde , I view all of ' Discovery ' to see everything Michelle did . Also , it ’s just a fabulous show , then there were a couple of things that Olatunde want us to watch out . Hardwick : ' Crimson Tide ' shout out to Denzel Washington and Gene Hackman , especially for our character reference to your enquiry about Kacey and me being in a commanding role and trying to do the policing of not only ' incision 31 , ' but for the celluloid . Olatunde did his job well by maneuver us in the correct direction for homework .

Kacey , like Rachel , originated from Tricia O’Neil ’s iteration of Star Trek : The Next genesis . Did you seem at her episode , ' Yesterday ’s endeavor , ' or did you want to do a sweet take of your own ?

Rohl : No , I ’ve seen that sequence [ spill the beans a strain ] so many times . Yeah , lucky me ! Tricia O’Neil did an incredible job with the original iteration of Rachel Garrett . Those were big iron boot to fill , and I want to honor them . I do n’t take lightly what she means to the whole canon . I perfectly watched that episode many times and also brought my own humanity to Rachel at this point . Obviously , I ’m the younger edition of her early on in her journey . I ’m a lieutenant at this point . In ' Yesterday ’s endeavor , ' she ’s a captain , obviously . I got to work with a peck of colour and establish a lot of ejaculate that ended up flowering to ' Yesterday ’s Enterprise , ' but I watched the episode .

We did a lot of workplace in that space . You , not as much , right ?

Rohl : Not as much , but what I love about watching these guys do all the rehearsal and then how it ended up come into the movie with Chris ’s brilliant choreography and how it inform the story , which I so appreciate , right ? It is n’t vex him up for exhaust him up ’s sake .

Hardwick : He reserve for coaction .

Rohl : It felt inform , like an extension of the other oeuvre , which is always cool to see .
