Truly , some of the best people we ’ve ever worked with . They are so enthusiastic about Spider - Man ; Jeff and Mel are huge fan . They have a deal of originative ideas they relay to us , and we array a lot on all the stuff we revel as viewers and as consumers . We care a plenty of the same movies , and follow some of the same gum anime , like that ’s something we connect on quickly . We get a lot of reference ; we ’re all like we ’re picking up what they ’re invest down and vice versa . Everything was so chill with them , aboveboard , like we ’d show them music , and they would have their notes . There were never any fervour drills or anything like that . In our caper , something could go wrong at any minute , and there was nothing like that on the show . It was legato sailing , and I would work with them until the end of time .
I saw that some of the musical influences for the series ' score were anime and lo - fi hip - record hop . Can you get a piffling moment into that ?
There are two different look of the show . There ’s like the natural action view , there ’s the high - octane , gamy - energy world that Spider - Man lives in . There ’s fighting , military action , and villain . That ’s the euphony we want to approach from an anime perspective . When we say , " gum anime perspective , " we mean the music in anime is very inspiring to us . It ’s melodious and has high muscularity . The instrumentation is alone . There ’s a lot of like blending orchestra with electronics and with guitars , basso , and drums .
That ’s what we did on ' Cobra Kai , ' and that ’s something we do quite well – take in the musical score feel like it ’s not just a movie scotch . It can be like a birdcall you heed to , and then the other side of that is the whole slice of life part of ' Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider - Man . ' It ’s still mundane Peter Parker poppycock , which we love . That ’s our favorite stuff . The lo - fi hip - hop aspect was something we felt like Peter Parker likely take heed to on his computer .
