Superman star Rachel Brosnahan discusses taking on the purpose of Lois Lane , how the movie stays true to the heart of the comics , and more .

During Friday night ’s Critics Choice Awards , Brosnahan shared why having The Man of Steel back is as important now as ever before and the pressure that come with accept on a role made famous by names such asNoel Neill , Margot Kidder , Teri Hatcher , andAmy Adams .
" We ’re live in a moment of so much turmoil , both here [ and ] abroad . There ’s a portion of challenge for everybody in all dissimilar pockets of the domain right now . And for a lot of the ailment that people have sometimes about superhero movies , at their essence , they ’re about the goodness of people and how good we can be to each other , how the pursual of verity and justice really are the American agency , and that courage and hope can carry us through , " Brosnahan shared . " And so , I feel like this pic really capsulise all of that . It ’s a promising superhero movie , which I palpate like is so true to the comic . So , I ’m mad for audiences to see it and hopefully have some fun and enjoy the ride with us . "
In terms of taking on the role of Lois Lane , Brosnahan apportion that her connection with the fibre begin with the 1978 cinema . " I mean , I produce up loving the [ Richard ] Donner Superman movies , the Chris Reeve Superman movies , Margot Kidder . I mean , she ’s just a dream , " the actress said . " So , I was definitely intimidated to step into this role but excited to pick up the mantle . And this team just love this project , and it go like it should be a render , but it is n’t always a given that the great unwashed love what they ’re making to this degree . So , that ’s what I was looking forwards to the most . "
