Bleeding Cool : You came into the series late , commence with time of year five , so what was your big challenge getting into the universe of discourse of ' The Handmaid ’s Tale ' and your role as Rose Blaine ?
The biggest challenge was rising to the determined standards for the show . It was my first television set show , but I had some background knowledge in movie training and some film experience . Coming into a show with an install plot line and just as establish , a lover base was something new to me . I mainly wanted to do it Department of Justice , and for the theatrical role to be so interesting , singular , and also , in such an interesting position , relationship - wise . That was interesting but exciting , and people kind of hated my character before they match her once they know that she existed , and then , because she ’s such a unique character , I sense like a spate of the great unwashed were surprised once I appear on the CRT screen . Rose is so unexpected in so many ways , which is typical of this show ; it keeps you guessing in the best way . This time of year , in particular , is give way to be representative of keeping people guessing until the very end .

Well , it was mostly character conversation , and the person who did that for me was Lizzie Moss . She texted me and then ring me . Was there a part you did before as a conversant space you re - entered to inspire Rose ?
Yeah , but there are some similarity between Rose and [ the character of ] Laura Wingfield , whom I have play a distich of prison term . I understudied her for ' The Glass Menagerie ' on Broadway , and then I got to play her as the principal for a few months at the Guthrie Theater ( in Minnesota ) . The biggest similarity between the two of them is that they ’re both unruffled fibre , who have a pile going on underneath , where a lot of the operation are in the subtext , their mysterious wants and desires , but they might not say what they desire all the time . They ’re characters who have a lot drop dead on underneath the surface .
There are a lot of parallels between the playing of those characters , and I ’ve gotten to act such a multifariousness , from the loudmouths and those who are bold and confident people . The role I did justly after Rose , between season five and season six [ of ' The Handmaid ’s Tale ' ] , is a persona named Cynthia from an indie picture show , ' Where Did the Adults Go ? From season five to six , you had a transition of showrunners from creator Bruce Miller to Eric [ Tuchman ] and Yahlin [ Chang ] . Was there anything noticeably dissimilar about how the Seth were on between time of year , or was it a seamless transition ?
It feel very seamless to me . It always felt like a kinsperson . Everybody always felt happy to be there . I get to have some more ambitious hardened days in time of year six , so it ’d be hard for me to liken it to season five , just day where there are multiple unit working simultaneously , and cameras on trailer coming in . That was new for me in time of year six , but it was a exchangeable inflammation , and everybody was work out like a complete machine to get thing done .
